Any smoking in the rooms or strong lingering smoking scents in rooms will result in a $250 room cleaning fee.

If you are already staying with us and you would like to stay longer, please let us know at least 24 hours before your check-out date. We will do our best to accommodate your new plans. Give our hotline a call at 812-302-6902 and leave your name and the date you would like to extend to..
PET POLICY
The Sherman does not allow pets other than certified service animals. If you are bringing a Service Dog, please notify us at the time of booking. Emotional support animals are not permitted. Service dogs are not allowed to be left unattended in guest rooms or any other hotel space. Dogs are not allowed on furniture in the room. Your service dog must be under your control at all times, whether this is by the means of a leash, hand gestures or voice control, your dog cannot become unruly.
Pet owners are financially responsible for any damage deemed by staff to have been caused by a service dog. Dogs must be picked up after inside and outside of the hotel by guests. Guests will be charged an additional cleaning fee for any extra cleaning incurred by the guest not picking up after the pet. The Sherman is landlocked and therefore guests will need to cross Main Street and use the park area to the northwest of the building for walking and pet relief. Guests will be charged a $200 cleaning fee if evidence of any type of pet is found in a room that was not pre-registered as a service dog.
ROOM POLICY
Any damaged or stolen property will be charged to your card at market value.
FREE PARKING
As you approach The Sherman on Main Street, you will see the hotel on the right, turn immediately into the parking on the left which is free. This parking lot is a free city municipal parking lot. You can also park on the streets on Main and/or George Street (a right turn at the four-way stop directly in front of The Sherman).
MINIMUM AGE POLICY
All guests must be 21 years or older to confirm guestroom accommodations at The Sherman. A valid photo ID must be presented at the time of check in for age verification.
ADA
The Sherman does not have an elevator. As a historical property during renovations was not required to build in ADA code as many historical buildings across America have been grandfathered with clauses that protect historical structures from mishaps in construction that can alter the structural integrity as well as the historical integrity of the building in question. As long as the purpose of a historical property is not altered grandfather clauses apply. The Sherman was always for the duration of its existence a hotel and never changed its purpose.
GUEST SAFETY
As part of our commitment to guest safety, employees will not disclose the identity, room number or presence of a guest to anyone other than appropriate law enforcement. This includes the taking of or delivery of messages or indirect forwarding of phone calls. It is the responsibility of guests to communicate their presence and room number to any person they wish to receive calls or visits from. Safety cameras are used throughout the premises, and anyone on our property may be recorded.
